Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 22, 2026
AppNote (“the app”) is a macOS menu-bar utility for local, per-app notes. This policy describes what the app does and does not collect.
Data we store
Notes, categories, spaces, and preferences (including your keyboard shortcut) are stored only on your Mac, inside the app’s sandboxed container. We do not operate a cloud sync service for AppNote.
Data we do not collect
- No accounts or sign-in
- No analytics or tracking SDKs
- No advertising identifiers
- No sale of personal data
Network
AppNote does not require a network connection to function. The marketing website is separate from the app binary.
App context
To scope notes to the app you are using, AppNote reads the frontmost application’s name and bundle identifier from the system. That information stays on your device and is used only to organize your notes.
